wash out

today’s been a wash. I suspect tomorrow will be even worse.

I spent an entire hour at the pool yesterday.
should’ve been longer but I had things to do.
oh hello sun. I’ve missed you

things like getting my hair cut & colored.¬†ūüôā

yes I take photos in the lobby of the hair place.  smoooth.

things like treating myself to some froyo – yumm

white choc chips & oreos. delic

and today I prepped for the hurricane.

and by prepped, I mean I went to CVS to get this. and some chex mix.

and approximately $17 worth of AA batteries because thats all they had left. I can recharge them? awesome. we all know I won’t actually do that.

I feel like I should be doing more than just waiting around for this mess of a hurricane.

the weather channel is getting awwwfully boring.

I really shouldn’t be complaining about boring. What am I going to do when the power actually does go out!?!

aside from reading books, I keep thinking of things (like baking) and then realize they require electricity. fail.

stay dry kids. or just stay home.

Few reasons why it wasn’t brutal to get back into the groove this time, unlike the last 4 day weekend I had:

1. yeah, I had lots of delicious beverages – but for the most part, I ate like a normal person.

2. 3 day work week. makes me so very happy.

3. I fully cleaned my apt before I left. Coming home was fantastic knowing that my apt was neat & pretty, the dishwasher was clean, the sheets were fresh, and laundry was done.¬† (I sound¬†like a crazy¬†old lady¬†but I think¬†I’m okay with it..)

4. Back to back nights with friends:

Tuesday after I got back РLauren & I had a fro-yo date and then did some wine & couch time. nothing makes easing out of vacation mode easier than a bff and wine.

Wednesday – I made the best hummus ever & headed to Christina’s. She supplied delic gala apples for scooping¬†& wine ūüôā

not the best photo Рbut you get the idea.  it was delicious. MUST TRY THIS!

(and I promise to work on my presentation skills)

and totally unrelated, but I feel like sharing¬†– my fridge struh-ggles since I haven’t been to the grocery store in uh.. a long time.¬† So in attempts to¬†avoid buying lunch – I pulled this out of the back of my freezer. Forgot it was in there.¬† intrigued.

I can’t describe how delicious this was. I will buy 4 more next time I make it to Trader Joe’s.¬† so good.

I have a date with the treadmill tonight. I braved the heat last night for 5 miles, but pretty sure today’s “excessive heat¬†watch”¬†plus the 15-25 mph wind mean I should stay inside.

only 2 more weeks!

1. being prepared – when it downpoured right before I was leaving work today & I realized I had an umbrella in my purse & rainboots under my desk –> so happy

2. secretly stretching in the handicap stall  Рstill pretty sore. this helped lots.  might be a lil weird but so am I.

3. mid afternoon fro-yo break Р yesterday I had a craving. In NY, there is good fro-yo everywhere. Boston: not so much.  Thanks to some google searching on my super awesome iphone, I discovered my new favorite place.  good fro-yo. good toppings. walkable from work. BEST FIND EVER.

4. this for breakfast РTechnically, I had this yesterday but I wish it was today too.  Fresh strawberries, 1/4 cup raw oats, 6 0z FAGE 0% greek yogurt, 1 tbsp sunflower seeds & a Dunkin Iced.  perfection.

(I know it looks hot but the cold cup is just hiding inside the hot one.)

5. healthy freebies on the street – excited to try this.

6. lunchtime pedicures – my toes were wayy overdue. It was wooonderful. (definitely better than whoopie pie pans ;)) I’ll spare you the pic.

7. the fact that in 48 hours, I’ll be in Baltimore!! yayyyyy!!

What made you happy today?
