severe winds

oh heyyyy

its Monday again. How delightful right?!
I had a pretty excellent weekend, which was only documented in the form of cocktails.

Friday, book club was really fun. There was lots of wine & food, the girls were great and Carly’s condo was gorgeous.  Post book club – beverages:

this was gross, but pretty

Saturday, I opted not to run given the “2-4 inches” that were supposed to happen but didn’t. (and maybe the beverages had an effect too).   Had dinner at Lucia in the North End for Lysa’s birthday.

more wine. espresso martini.

delicious

I don’t remember the last time I drank out a martini glass, yet somehow this weekend there were 2 and documented them both!?   After dinner, we did a quick swing through Ray’s apt. We’ve been friends for a year, I’ve never see his place. I get there to find this:

jealous.

Sunday – I managed to get in a long run. I was supposed to do 11 miles, but procrastinated long enough that I only had time for 9. Oops.  It was brutal outside though, so 9 was tough enough.  I took myself on a little running tour of Southie & only got slightly lost.  I’ve never really spent any time there and was intrigued after Friday at Carly’s.

not a joke.

wind that will take out power will also slow you down. significantly. true story.

but it felt really good to get it done.

plus, dinner with JT afterwards 🙂

My motivation has been all over the place lately. I don’t usually procrastinate on my long runs, yet I did this weekend. I’m not looking forward to my next one.  Yeah, I’m excited for the Hyannis Half but I’m also excited to stick to shorter distances for awhile.

After Hyannis, the next 13.1 I’m registered for is in August.
I’m eyeing mostly 5K’s for the spring which will be a change of pace for sure. hopefully a much faster pace 😉

.

What’s the coldest/windiest you’ve ventured out in?
how was the weekend?!

As I mentioned yesterday – it was Christina’s birthday

You remember her. She’s fabulous.

She ran the Thompson Island 4K with me.

 us with Bill 🙂

Last night to celebrate, I met up with her & her boyfriend Adam for some cocktails

cheers guys.  how cute are they?

Adam & I – I’ve actually known him forever.  He’s how Christina & I became friends.

After cocktails, we met up with a few of her friends for dinner at Border Cafe. It was excellent, probably the best mexican I’ve had in Boston yet. Plus, they got some Pinkberry to bring home. What more can a girl ask for?!

.

Hope you had a good birthday my dear!

lots of bloggers!we started with an ice breaker.  then I went to Stepfanie’s session on Writing a Better Recipesuper informative! now I just need to come up with a few alli-originals.

then Dawn Jackson Blatner gave a great talk on Action Mantra’sBrittany, Heather, Julie & Courtney inspired everyone to Rise Above the Negativity. Lessons learned:    Your blog is your castle, you can rule it however you please.     We can use whatever lens we want to see and share our lives.

Tina, Lisa, Janeetha & Beth talked about numbers. focus on the things you can control. numbers can motivate but also make you crazy. check in with yourself & what works for you.

oh hey friends! Kristy, me, & Holly

After the last session, a group of us wandered back over to Reading Terminal Market to check it out while its open. I could’ve taken a thousand pics, but instead you get sign & flowers. pretty
liberty bell!!I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen the Liberty Bell. Glad we made it during the jam-packed weekendabout ten of us ended up at The Corner for dinner. Super cute. Sangria was excellent – just what I needed after a looong and informative day these little cornbreads were fantastic – soft, fluffy, buttery

I ordered the corner burger – it was good but nothing blog-worthy
